UNIX Time / Date Converter

Convert UNIX timestamps to dates and dates to UNIX timestamps in your browser. Choose seconds or milliseconds and an explicit UTC offset, without sending your input to a server.

Your input and conversion results stay in your browser and are not sent to the server.

The default is Japan time (+09:00). Enter a fixed offset from -14:00 to +14:00, such as +00:00 or +05:45. Daylight saving time is not applied automatically.

Enter a timestamp or date and time, then choose a conversion.

UNIX time → Date

Negative values are supported. Seconds allow up to 3 decimal places; milliseconds must be integers.

The unit is used as selected; it is not guessed from the number of digits.

Date → UNIX time

Interpreted using the UTC offset above. Missing seconds or milliseconds are treated as zero.

How to convert UNIX time and dates

  1. Set the UTC offset. The same fixed offset applies to both directions. Use +09:00 for Japan or +00:00 for UTC.
  2. Enter a UNIX timestamp, choose seconds or milliseconds, then select Convert to date.
  3. Enter a date and time, then select Convert to UNIX time. A successful conversion also updates the inputs for the other direction.
  4. Copy each result when needed. Convert current time reads your device clock once. Input changes clear the previous results.

Epoch, units and UTC offset

UNIX time counts elapsed seconds since 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC. 1 second equals 1,000 milliseconds. Negative values represent earlier instants. Precision is limited to 1 millisecond, without rounding extra decimal places. The UTC offset changes the displayed or entered local time, not the epoch. Fixed offsets are used; location-based time zones and daylight saving rules are not inferred. Leap seconds (a seconds value of 60) are not supported.

Supported range and privacy

Both UTC and the date at the selected offset must fall within years 0001–9999 of the proleptic Gregorian calendar. Invalid dates such as February 30 are rejected without normalization. Input and results are not sent to a server or stored in URLs, logs, analytics events or browser storage. Page-view analytics and normal page-resource requests remain enabled.
