URL Encode / Decode
Encode or decode any UTF-8 text, including Japanese, emoji, relative paths and symbols. No URL scheme or host is required; processing stays in your browser.
Page views are measured using analytics. Input text and conversion results are excluded. Privacy policy
The standard format leaves + unchanged when decoding. Form decoding turns + into a space. A literal plus is encoded as %2B.
Enter any text and choose Encode or Decode.
Enter any text. No http/https prefix or valid URL structure is required. Conversion starts only when you select Encode or Decode. Input is not saved automatically.
Copy the result or use it as input for another conversion. Decoded content is shown as text and is never executed.
How to use URL Encode / Decode
- Paste any text or percent-encoded value. You can use words, relative paths or complete URLs of any scheme.
- Choose a format, then select Encode or Decode. Standard encoding escapes reserved characters such as /, ?, &, = and # as well.
- Copy the result when you need it. Use result as input lets you perform the reverse conversion after selecting the appropriate format.
Any text is accepted
The tool never navigates to the input or checks its protocol, host or URL structure. It treats everything as text. Decode runs once: valid UTF-8 percent escapes are decoded, while incomplete escapes or invalid UTF-8 escapes remain unchanged with a notice. Already decoded text stays as it is.
Limits and data handling
Input is limited to 5 MiB in UTF-8, output to 20 MiB, and processing to 5 seconds. Empty text can also be encoded or decoded. Input and output are not placed in URLs, server logs, analytics events, or browser storage. Page-view analytics and normal page-resource requests remain enabled.
